Samir Roy has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Samir started their career at San Diego Metropolitan Credit Union as a Teller from September 2006 to June 2010. Samir then worked as a Film Marketing Intern at Landmark Theatres from September 2011 to December 2011. After that, they joined CalTV where they held multiple roles including Editor/Blogger, Director of Entertainment, and On-Camera Reporter from September 2011 to May 2012. Simultaneously, they worked as a Reader in the Film and Media Department of UC Berkeley from February 2012 to May 2012. From December 2012 to December 2012, they worked as a Production Assistant at Rabbit Bandini Productions.

In 2013, Samir became a Relocation Manager at TheMIGroup, where they managed international relocation needs for corporate clients until September 2017. Samir then contributed as a Coverage personnel at Telluride Film Festival from June 2015 to August 2018. From March 2014 to September 2018, they worked as a Contributing Editor and Podcast Host/Creator at Gambit Magazine, where they wrote reviews and opinion pieces and cohosted podcasts.

In August 2018, Samir transitioned to Ekso Bionics, initially starting as a Senior Customer Experience Specialist and later promoted to Lead Customer Experience Specialist. In these roles, they led the development and implementation of customer experience strategies, provided technical and customer service support, and coordinated with various teams to resolve complex issues and generate consumer trust and interest in industrial and medical exoskeletons.

Samir Roy earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Film and Media from the University of California, Berkeley, from 2010 to 2012.
