Richard Westgarth, PE has over 12 years of experience in the engineering field. Richard began their career in 2010 as a Mechanical Engineer at Alstom Power, where they completed 3-6 month work placements in Technical Service Engineering, Systems Design Engineering, Quality Engineering, Boiler and Plant Solutions Engineering, and Marketing. In 2012, they joined Entergy as a Power Plant Engineer, managing large scale critical mechanical projects and outage scopes from definition through to completion. From 2013 to 2015, they worked at Trican Completion Solutions as an R&D Engineer, developing new products to optimize the well completion process. In 2015, they returned to Entergy as a Business Process Program Lead, leading the development of maintenance, engineering, and purchasing processes for Power Generation for a Maximo based software implementation. Richard also supported the development of the business case to execute the software project and worked with developers on the design of the preliminary engineering interfaces. In addition, they held the role of Team Leader, Plant Assets, where they were responsible for Engineering, Maintenance, Operation, Finance, Strategy, and Personnel on Balance of Plant Systems at a conventional gas fired plant. Richard also managed a multi-million dollar plant wide outage with no safety incidents, on time and on budget. From 2020 to 2022, Richard was a Graduate Student at RWTH Aachen University. Richard currently holds the role of Engineering Manager at EKU Power Drives.
Richard Westgarth, PE obtained their Master of Science in Robotic Systems Engineering from RWTH Aachen University between 2020 and 2022. Prior to that, they obtained their MEng in Mechanical Engineering from Loughborough University between 2004 and 2009. In 2017, they obtained their Professional Engineer (PE) certification from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers.
