Melissa Zavala

Melissa Zavala is an experienced education and service professional currently serving as a Disability Service Coordinator at El Valor since September 2022. Previously, Melissa worked as a Special Education Teacher at Stagg School of Excellence from July 2019 to August 2022. With a diverse background, Melissa held multiple roles at Pomona College, including Environmental Health and Safety Assistant, Biology Department Laboratory Assistant, Biochemistry Laboratory Teacher Assistant, and Pre-Health Mentor. Additional experience includes serving as a HealthBridges Advocate at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center and an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Melissa obtained a Master of Art in Teaching with a focus on Special Education from Relay Graduate School of Education and earned an undergraduate degree from Pomona College.
