Alex Piggott

Alex Piggott is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in cloud technologies, data analytics, and cybersecurity. Currently serving as a Principal Engineer and Area Tech Lead for the Cloud Team at Elastic since June 2016, Piggott has previously held significant roles, including Director of Research and Development at IKANOW, where expertise was applied in developing an Open Source storage and analytics platform tailored for unstructured data. Additional contributions include leadership as Director of Product Engineering at Klatch.com, overseeing the integration with Salesforce, and as Technical Director at BAE Systems, where Piggott focused on identifying cyber threats through big data analytics. Earlier experience at Detica involved pioneering high-speed data processing techniques, focusing on mission-critical systems and network security. Alex Piggott holds a BA in Mathematics from the University of Oxford.
