Steve Bassel

Steve Bassel is an experienced engineering manager currently leading the Skouries Project at Eldorado Gold Corporation since June 2022. Prior to this role, Steve held positions at KAZ Minerals as Principal Engineer for the Peschanka Project, and at BHP Billiton as Principal Engineer for the Jansen Project. Steve's career includes significant roles at Fluor Corporation, NorLand Limited, AMEC, WorleyParsons, and Schlumberger, demonstrating expertise in material handling, field engineering, and maintenance consulting. Steve earned a Master’s degree in Mining and Mineral Engineering and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from The University of British Columbia.
