Freeman Rufus completed their Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Morehouse College in 1991. Freeman then pursued a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, which they completed in 1994. Following that, they earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the same institute in 1996. Finally, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2001.
