Alan Schoen has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Alan currently serves as the VP of Product Engineering at Electric Hydrogen, starting in May 2023. Prior to that, they held positions at Plenty and Tesla. At Plenty, Alan started as the Director of Engineering in January 2018 and was promoted to Senior Director of Engineering in August 2020. Alan stayed with the company until April 2023. At Tesla, their roles included Director of Gigafactory Manufacturing Engineering from January 2017 to January 2018, Senior Manager of Manufacturing Engineering from September 2013 to January 2017, Staff Manufacturing Engineer from November 2012 to September 2013, Senior Manufacturing Engineer from August 2010 to November 2012, and Manufacturing Engineer from April 2009 to August 2010. Alan also gained experience as a Research Assistant at Stanford University Human Performance Lab from November 2008 to April 2009, and as an Engineering Intern at Nokia's Beijing Nokia Research Center from June 2008 to September 2008. Prior to that, they worked as an Engineer at Concept Systems Inc, specializing in system integration and controls for the industrial automation industry from September 2006 to September 2007.
Alan Schoen received their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, where they attended from 2002 to 2006. Alan further pursued their education at Stanford University and obtained a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from 2007 to 2009.
