Costas Stasopoulos

Costas Stasopoulos serves as the Acting Transmission Manager and Head of Transmission Network Planning at the Electricity Authority of Cyprus, contributing expertise in transmission planning since December 1991. In parallel, Costas Stasopoulos holds several leadership roles within the IEEE, including Chair of the Sections Congress 2026, Chair of the Local Groups Committee, and Past Director of IEEE Region 8, which encompasses approximately 70,000 members across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Previous experience includes positions as Electrical Engineer at SITA and Agence France Presse. Costas Stasopoulos earned a B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Rutgers University and an MBA in Management from Maastricht School of Management.
