Karl Irwin

Karl Irwin has extensive experience in manufacturing engineering, currently serving as the Manufacturing Engineering Manager at Electro-Motive Diesel since October 2003, where responsibilities include implementing Lean Manufacturing in the Engine Business Unit and overseeing Engineering support staff. Previously held the position of Maintenance Superintendent at the LaGrange facility, managing Maintenance, Construction, Utilities, and Housekeeping operations. Early career roles included Mfg Engineer at General Motors from 1996 to 1997 and Quality Supervisor at General Motors Powertrain from 1985 to 1989. Karl Irwin holds a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering with a focus on Manufacturing Engineering from Northwestern University and a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Automotive Engineering from Kettering University.
