Richard Prins possesses extensive experience in the field of electrical engineering, particularly in protection systems and asset management. Currently serving as Principal Engineer at Mitton Electronet Ltd since May 2013, Richard is responsible for developing and reviewing protection strategies, policies, and standards. Prior roles include Asset Manager Protection & Automation at Transpower, where Richard led a team of 14 engineers, and various positions at Western Power and Transpower, focusing on project management, technical support, and relay performance analysis. Richard's career began at the Ministry of Works, where responsibilities included commissioning and maintenance in the transmission division. Richard holds a Graduate Diploma in Technology Management from Deakin University and a Bachelor of Engineering with Honors in Electrical Engineering from the University of Canterbury.
