Matt Deaner

Matt Deaner has worked for four companies throughout their career. In 2021, they began working as a Senior Scientist for ELEGEN. Prior to that, from 2019-2021, they worked as a Scientist II and Scientist I at Zymergen. From 2014-2019, they were a National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellow at The University of Texas at Austin. Before that, from 2012-2014, they were an Undergraduate Researcher at the Energy Biosciences Institute.

Matt Deaner completed a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley between 2010 and 2014. Matt then went on to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin between 2014 and 2019.
