Jim Williamson has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of Information Technology. Jim began their career in 1992 as an Application and Database Developer at SGI, where they specialized in creating end-user applications. In 1994, they joined Newcourt Credit Group as the Director of Development, where they automated the lease and loan origination process and played a key role in their financing joint venture with Dell Computer. In 2000, they became the Director of Information Technology at Dell Financial Services Canada, overseeing all IT services, including application development and data center management. Then, in 2001, they worked as the Director of Information Technology at Captiva Finance, where they built a lease origination platform. From 2002 to 2009, they served as the Vice-President of Information Technology at Symcor Inc., responsible for managing complex operational platforms and collaborating with product development teams. In 2010, they joined Foresters Financial as the Vice-President of Information Technology, overseeing IT operations and leading business transformation projects. Currently, they are working at Element Fleet Management as the Vice President of Data and Analytics North America and previously served as the Chief Information Officer for Canada. Overall, Jim has demonstrated a strong leadership role and has successfully implemented various IT initiatives throughout their career.
Jim Williamson attended the University of Toronto from 1988 to 1992, where they studied Economics and Political Science. In 2007, they returned to the University of Toronto and completed an Advanced Certificate in Strategic Leadership, which they obtained in 2009. In 2010, Jim obtained a Certificate in IT Management from Queen's University. Jim also has additional certifications, including Agile Scrum Foundation from the Scrum Alliance and Predictive Index Analyst from the Predictive Success Corporation.
