Anne Evens has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Anne began their career as an Engineer at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH Mozambique Rural Reconstruction in 1989, where they worked until 1996. Following this, they joined the City of Chicago in 1996 and served as the Director of Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention and Radon Reduction until 2006. In 2006, Anne became the CEO of Elevate, a company that aims to provide clean and affordable heat, power, and water to communities in need. Anne has been in this role for over 15 years. Additionally, Anne is an Official Member of Forbes Nonprofit Council since 2021.
Anne Evens earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied and Engineering Physics from Cornell University, which they attended from 1981 to 1985. Anne later pursued a Master of Science degree in Energy Management and Appropriate Technology at the University of Pennsylvania, where they studied from 1988 to 1989. In 2005, Anne enrolled in the University of Illinois Chicago and completed their PhD in Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences by the year 2010.
