Flavil Hampsten has had an extensive career in sports business and marketing. Flavil started their career in 2001 as a Corporate Marketing Manager at Mandalay Sports Entertainment. Flavil then worked as a Premium Sales Executive at Comcast-Spectacor from 2003 to 2005, where they were responsible for selling multi-year agreements in suites, club seats, and club boxes.

In 2005, Hampsten joined the New Orleans Hornets as a Group Sales Manager, but soon moved on to become the Vice President of Ticket Sales at Phoenix Coyotes/Jobing.com Arena. During their tenure there, they oversaw a staff of 60 sales professionals and achieved significant increases in season ticket and group ticket sales. Flavil also played a key role in the construction of the team's dynamic CRM system.

After their time with the Phoenix Coyotes, Hampsten joined the National Basketball Association (NBA) as the Director of Team Marketing and Business Operations in 2009. In this role, they were responsible for the overall health of the business side of multiple NBA, WNBA, and NBA D-League teams.

In 2010, Hampsten joined the Charlotte Hornets as the Senior Vice President of Sales & Database Marketing. During their tenure, the team achieved organizational records in various revenue categories and they also managed the team's CRM system and direct-to-consumer marketing programs.

From 2015 to 2018, Hampsten served as the Executive Vice President, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer at the San Jose Sharks, where they were responsible for revenue generation, marketing, digital efforts, public relations, and community departments. Flavil implemented successful go-to-market strategies that led to a 24% growth in the organization's core revenue departments.

Currently, Hampsten is the Chief Operating Officer at Elevate Sports Ventures, a role they have held since 2018.

Flavil Hampsten graduated from the University of Mount Union in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing & Management. After a gap of six years, from 2001 to 2007, Flavil resumed their education at the W. P. Carey School of Business – Arizona State University. Flavil completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in 2009, with a focus on Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services.
