Kieran Kelly

Kieran Kelly has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and companies. Kieran worked at Elgin Energy as the Head of Grid starting in 2021. Prior to that, they were a Senior Power Systems Engineer at ESCO Pacific Pty Ltd from 2019 to 2021, where they managed the development and delivery of solar farm and energy storage projects. Kieran also worked at Clean Technology Partners Pty Ltd as a Senior Power Systems Engineer from 2018 to 2019, where they conducted power system modeling and technical analysis for utility-scale solar PV and wind farm projects. Before that, they worked at EirGrid in various roles, including Engineer in Near Time Operations and Transmission Engineering & Maintenance, as well as Graduate Engineer in Sustainable Power Systems. At EirGrid, Kieran was involved in technical and commercial analysis, transmission outage management, and the development of new tools and systems for integrating renewable energy on the Irish electricity grid. Kieran also gained experience as a Graduate Intern at EirGrid and as a Product Engineering Intern at Amtrol Inc, where they worked on designing pressure vessels and conducting competitive analysis projects.

Kieran Kelly began their education at St Kieran's College in Kilkenny, where they obtained their Leaving Certificate in 2008. Kieran then went on to attend University College Dublin from 2008 to 2012, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering.

In addition to their formal education, Kieran has also obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 2015, they received a CPD Certificate in Professional Engineering from Engineers Ireland. In 2016, they became a Registered PRINCE2® Practitioner through APM Group. In 2017, they obtained the IAM Asset Management Certificate from the Institute of Asset Management and was awarded the Registered Professional Title of Chartered Engineer by Engineers Ireland. In 2018, they became a Chartered Engineer through Engineers Australia. Most recently, in 2020, they completed a course called "The Economics of the Energy Transition" from edX.
