Mihkel Soomere

Mihkel Soomere has a diverse work experience in the field of IT infrastructure and system administration. Mihkel is currently working as an IT Infrastructure Architect at Elisa Eesti AS since 2022. Previously, from 2020 to 2022, they worked as an IT Infrastructure Engineer at Santa Monica Networks.

Prior to that, Mihkel worked at Ekspress Grupp from 2017 to 2020 as a System Administrator. Here, they were responsible for implementing SAN platforms, virtualization, storage consolidation, and disaster recovery solutions. Mihkel also worked on consolidating directory services and collaboration platforms.

Before that, Mihkel worked at the Information Technology Centre of the Ministry of the Environment from 2013 to 2017. Mihkel held various roles such as Senior System Administrator, Technical Lead, and Microsoft Infrastructure System Administrator. Mihkel worked on consolidating e-mail and groupware systems, improving efficiency and performance in VMware and storage platforms, and deploying SCCM and Intel vPro across the enterprise.

Mihkel's earlier work experiences include being the Head of Information Technology and Telecommunications Department at the Estonian Meteorological and Hydrological Institute from 2010 to 2012. Mihkel also worked as a Consultant at Transeeo, providing technical guidance and support to a start-up focusing on professional translators, from 2009 to 2010.

Mihkel'scareer started as a System Administrator at Arvuti Traumapunkt OÜ from 2007 to 2009, where they gained experience in endpoint management and working with public sector clients, particularly public schools. Mihkel also served in the military at Headquarters Support and Signal Battalion as part of their compulsory military service from 2006 to 2007.

Prior to their military service, they worked as an IT Technician at Arvutiekspress OÜ in 2006.

Throughout their career, Mihkel has demonstrated their expertise in IT infrastructure, system administration, virtualization, consolidation, and project management.

Mihkel Soomere's education history includes studying at the Estonian Information Technology College from 2007 to 2015, where they focused on IT Systems Administration. Before that, they attended Gustav Adolf Grammar School from 1994 to 2006. In addition to their formal education, Soomere has obtained several certifications, including a VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization in 2022 from VMware, an AZ-600: Configuring and Operating a Hybrid Cloud with Microsoft Azure Stack Hub in 2022 from Microsoft, an HPE ASE - Storage Solutions V4 in 2021 from Hewlett Packard Enterprise, an HPE ASE - Hybrid IT Solutions Architect V1 in 2021 from Hewlett Packard Enterprise, an HPE ATP - Hybrid IT Solutions V2 in 2021 from Hewlett Packard Enterprise, a Veeam Legends 2021 certification from Veeam Software in 2021, and an Administering Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Databases certification from Microsoft in 2014.
