Alexander Strøm Arnesen has had a diverse work experience in the energy industry. Alexander began their career at Statkraft Markets Continental as an Analyst, specializing in emissions and renewables. Alexander then became a Cross border electricity trader before moving on to Orkla Finans Commodity Trading AS as the Head of Analysis, focusing on power and fuel markets. After that, they joined Elkem Energi Handel as a Senior Analyst and Portfolio Manager, analyzing power markets and managing portfolios. Alexander eventually became the Managing Director of Elkem Power AS, where they procured electricity for large industrial consumers and handled market analysis and portfolio management. Currently, they work at Elkem ASA as the Head of Power Procurement, where they focus on energy and climate policy and negotiates power purchase agreements. Overall, Alexander has a strong background in energy market analysis, portfolio management, and procurement.
Alexander Strøm Arnesen received their MSc in Law from the University of Oslo from 2005 to 2008. Prior to that, they obtained their MSc in Electrical Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) between 1999 and 2004.
