Susan Schroeder

Susan Schroeder, MILS, has extensive experience in library and information science, currently serving as the Reference Department Head and Reference Librarian at Elkhart Public Library since April 2024. Previously, Susan held the position of Branch Manager at Cass District Library from June 2023 to April 2024 and worked as a Grants Administrator for the Community Foundation of Elkhart County from 2021 to 2023. Earlier roles include Director of Patron Services and Adult Services Supervisor at Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library (2019-2021), Manager of the Helen Warner Branch and Acquisitions Manager at Willard Public Library (2001-2019), and Head of Public Services at Capital Area District Library (1998-2001). Susan began their career with the LSTA Program Team at the Library of Michigan (1995-1998). Academic credentials include a Master of Information and Library Science from the University of Michigan (1993-1995) and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Michigan State University (1985-1990).
