Sebastien Pochic has worked in the technology industry for over two decades. From 2016 to present, they have been the Founder & Chief Technology Officer at Ellipse Inc., where they have been responsible for creating solutions that address market needs and that can be adopted easily and quickly by all stakeholders in the smartcard ecosystem. From 2007 to 2016, they held various roles at MasterCard, including Vice President of New Products, Vice President of Value-Added Chip Solutions & Innovation, Global Product Manager of Value-Added Chip Solutions & Innovation, and Global Product Manager of M/Chip Platform. In their roles at MasterCard, they were responsible for defining product roadmaps, leading internal teams, and establishing relationships with industry partners. From 1999 to 2007, Sebastien was a Security Consultant and Security Specialist at Banksys, where they were responsible for end-to-end security architecture and policies of the payment system, definition of security requirements, security assessments, and support to development and test teams. Sebastien was also a member of the Change Control Board, overseeing all changes to the Front Office & Back Office payment processing system, and a member of the core team that led the migration of the Belgian payment system to EMV chips.
Sebastien Pochic completed an Executive Master in Management (CEPAC) at the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management from 2005 to 2006, with a focus in Finance, Marketing, and Strategy. Prior to this, they obtained a MS in Engineering from the Université libre de Bruxelles between 1993 and 1998.
