Bernard Mears

Bernard (BJ) Mears has extensive experience in the technology industry, with a focus on telecommunications. Bernard (BJ) has held various roles throughout their career, including Principal Platform Engineer at Ellucian and Senior Test Engineer at TeleworX.

Prior to these positions, they worked at Sprint as a Telecom Design Engineer III, where they were responsible for managing the 4G device certification process and performing interoperability testing.

Before their time at Sprint, Mears worked at NVA Consulting as a Principal Consultant, providing product development, implementation, integration, and testing services for Fortune 500 companies. Bernard (BJ) also served as a Technical Lead for a team of Test Engineers.

Mears began their career at Nextel Communications as a Senior Engineer. In this role, they were involved in defining requirements, conducting vendor analysis, and managing the selection process for third-party providers. Bernard (BJ) also played a key role in developing and implementing a wireless device presence and location services application.

Bernard (BJ) Mears has a Master's degree in Computer Science from Virginia Tech. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Mathematics (double major) from Christopher Newport University. In addition to their academic achievements, Bernard has obtained certifications in time management from LinkedIn and CompTIA Network+ ce and CompTIA Security+ from CompTIA.
