Melissa Morrison

Melissa Morrison's work experience includes various roles in the healthcare and philanthropy sectors. Melissa is currently working as the Director of Programs - Health at The ELMA Philanthropies. Prior to this, they held the positions of Program Manager and Program Officer in the same organization. Melissa also worked as a Consultant at The ELMA Philanthropies. Before joining The ELMA Philanthropies, they worked as a Nurse on a Disaster Assistance Response Team at Samaritan's Purse and as a Nurse Case Manager at COGRI, Lea Toto. Melissa also served as a Project Coordinator and Medical Coordinator at Samaritan's Purse, where they focused on nurse training and cholera response. Melissa's earlier experience includes working as a Community Health Nurse at Akot Medical Mission and Emmanuel International. Melissa started their career as a Clinical Nurse and Preceptor at Penn Medicine, University of Pennsylvania Health System.

Melissa Morrison has a strong educational background in the field of nursing. Melissa earned their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Nursing from Azusa Pacific University in the years 2002 to 2006. Continuing their education, Melissa pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Nursing Education from New York University, which they completed from 2012 to 2015. Simultaneously, they also obtained a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Global Health Leadership from the same university during the same time period.
