Jen Ortiz has had an extensive career in the gaming industry, beginning in 1998 with an internship at QMS/Minolta-QMS, where they performed driver and hardware testing for color and b&w laser printers. In 2002, they joined Mythic Entertainment as a Line Producer/Designer, where they worked with the volunteer team lead program to identify core issues with class and realm balance for Dark Age of Camelot. Jen then moved on to Electronic Arts/EA Mythic in 2006 as a Senior Designer, responsible for pre-production documentation for the Dark Age of Camelot and Ultima Online products, game systems, and tools. In 2007, they joined Turbine as a Lead Designer, Systems and managed a six-man game systems team during Volume II, Siege of Mirkwood, and Volume III game updates for Lord of the Rings Online. In 2012, Jen joined Carbine Studios as a Sr. Product Manager, Business Services, where they concepted and designed innovative product features aimed at improving customer acquisition, engagement, and retention. In 2017, they joined NCSOFT as a Director, Business Services, where they developed a small team to provide product and market level research for executive, publishing, and development stakeholders. Jen also joined Six Foot as a BI Manager, leading a small analytics team providing support for Rime, Dreadnought, and Grey Goo. Finally, in 2022, Jen joined Elodie Games as a Design Director.
Jen Ortiz obtained their Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science from the University of South Alabama between 1997 and 2001. In November of 2011, they obtained their Certified Scrum Master certification from the Scrum Alliance.
