Alexis Franzese

Associate Professor, Sociology & Chair, Department of Sociology & Anthropology at Elon University

Alexis Franzese has extensive experience in academia and clinical psychology. Since August 2011, Alexis has served as the Department Chair and holds the titles of Associate Professor and Assistant Professor at Elon University. In addition to academic roles, Alexis operates a part-time private practice as a psychologist since 2012. Previously, Alexis was a member of the Graduate School Board of Visitors at Duke University from 2010 to 2012 and completed a clinical psychology internship at Durham VAMC in 2010-2011. Academic credentials include dual Ph.D. degrees in psychology and sociology from Duke University, attained between 2004 and 2011, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in sociology, psychology, and history from Union College, earned from 1997 to 2001.
