Antonio Izzo

Antonio Izzo is an accomplished academic with extensive experience in biology, currently serving as Associate Professor and Chair of the Biology Department at Elon University since August 2007. Previous roles include Assistant Professor of Biology at the same institution and Research Plant Pathologist at USDA-ARS. Antonio's academic journey began with a Ph.D. in Microbial Ecology from the University of California, Berkeley, following an M.A. in Biology from the University of Northern Colorado and a B.A. in Zoology from the University of Vermont. Antonio's expertise encompasses teaching, research, mentoring, advising, and course development.
