Leslie Bortels

Leslie Bortels is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in software development and engineering management, currently serving as a Senior Software Architect and Software Development Manager at Elsyca since December 2007. Bortels has focused on creating software for applications in PCB plating, e-coating, and corrosion. Previously, Bortels held the position of Engineering Manager for Cathodic Protection and assisted in courses related to electrical energy conversion and electrical machines. Bortels began the professional journey at ElSyCa N.V. as a Software Development Manager, and prior to that, worked as a Post-Doctoral researcher at Philips PMF Eindhoven, focusing on gold plating processes. Bortels' earlier career includes research roles related to electrochemical systems and earned a PhD in Electrochemical Systems and Applied Sciences, alongside degrees in Electrochemistry and Mathematics from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
