Volker Liebenberg, Dr.

Dr. Volker Liebenberg has extensive work experience in the field of medical affairs and biomarker programs. Volker is currently serving as the Chief Medical Officer at Elypta since August 2022. Prior to this, Dr. Liebenberg worked as the Chapter Lead MAPS Germany at the Professional Society from May 2021. From October 2019 to April 2022, they held the position of Director Medical Affairs EMEA at Illumina. Before that, they served as the Senior Director MDx Medical and Scientific Affairs at QIAGEN from August 2017 to July 2019. Dr. Liebenberg also worked as the Director Global Medical Affairs at Thermo Fisher Scientific from August 2012 to July 2017. Volker held the position of Head of Biomarker Program at Metanomics Health GmbH, a BASF subsidiary, from June 2010 to August 2012. Prior to this, they served as the Vice President Product Development at Epigenomics AG from April 2004 to May 2010. Dr. Liebenberg has also worked as a Senior Consultant IT at WEKA from July 1999 to December 2000 and as the Leiter Herstellung at BSMO from April 1996 to June 1999. Volker started their career as an Arzt im Praktikum at Städtisches Krankenhaus Köln-Holweide from March 1995 to March 1996.
