Byron Pitney

Byron Pitney currently serves as Chief Technology Officer at Emarsys and Head of Engineering for CX Marketing Cloud at SAP, roles started in November 2021 and June 2021, respectively. Previous experience includes significant leadership positions at Salesforce, where Byron was Vice President of Software Engineering and Senior Director of Messaging Engineering from July 2014 to May 2021, overseeing the development of key marketing products. Prior to Salesforce, Byron held roles at ExactTarget, leading the software engineering efforts for social products, and was a co-inventor of targeted advertising solutions. Additional past positions include Vice President of Technology at Achievant, IT Systems Analyst at Roche Diagnostics, and various roles in software development at other organizations. Byron holds degrees from Indiana University Indianapolis and Ivy Tech Community College.
