Matthew Hudson has extensive work experience in the healthcare and insurance industry. Matthew started their career as a Jr. Financial Analyst at Vytra Health Plans in 2000, where they managed the Corporate Administrative Budget and implemented financial systems using Microsoft Access. Matthew then progressed to become a Data Analyst, performing various analyses and evaluations using insurance data and statistical tools. In 2005, they joined HIP as an Actuarial Analyst, supporting Actuarial Valuation and IBNR reserving processes. Matthew designed regression models and medical forecasting models during their time there. In 2006, Matthew moved to EmblemHealth as an Actuarial Process Designer, where they drafted business charters and secured funding for Actuarial Business Intelligence projects. Matthew also played a key role in deploying the SAS EBI platform. Over the years, they took on more managerial positions at EmblemHealth, including Manager of Business Intelligence, AVP Enterprise Data Management, and Director of Actuarial Business Intelligence. In their most recent role as VP Data & Analytics, they oversee and manages a team on technical and analytic projects. Matthew's work experience showcases their expertise in data analysis, Actuarial techniques, and healthcare IT systems.
Matthew Hudson received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Binghamton University in 2000. Matthew then pursued a Master of Arts degree in Statistics, Research Methods, and Experimental Design from Columbia University from 2002 to 2004. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications including a Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP) from TDWI in 2011 and a Machine Learning Foundations certificate from Coursera in 2016. Matthew also holds certifications in computer programming, Lean Six Sigma, SAS programming, and predictive modeling.
