Alan Harwood

Alan Harwood has extensive work experience in the field of software engineering and management. Alan currently holds the position of Vice President, Engineering at Emburse since September 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Director, Software Engineering at Emburse from March 2022 to September 2022. Before joining Emburse, Alan worked at Dealertrack from 2013 to 2020, where their roles included Senior Software Engineering Manager and Software Engineering Manager. At Stampin' Up!, Alan worked as the Compensation Software Manager from 2008 to 2013, leading Agile software development teams and overseeing project management for commissions systems. Alan also worked at Bungee Labs as a Community Program Manager in 2008. Earlier in their career, Alan was a Senior Software Engineer at Stampin' Up! from 2005 to 2008 and a Technical Consultant/Lead Software Engineer at AMX International from 1999 to 2005. At AMX International, they played a significant role in designing and creating an enterprise-class utility billing system and provided on-site installation and training to clients nationwide.

Alan Harwood earned an AAS degree in Information Systems from Brigham Young University - Idaho in 1999. Alan then pursued a BA degree in Information Systems from Idaho State University between 1999 and 2003. Later, they attended the University of Utah - David Eccles School of Business from 2005 to 2007, where they completed an MBA degree with a focus on Business Administration and Management, General.
