Parsa Nafisi, Ph.D.

Director of Scientific Instrumentation at Emerald Cloud Lab

Parsa Nafisi, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience. In 2018, they began working as the Director of Scientific Instrumentation, Scientific Instrumentation Lead, Systems Diagnostics Scientist II, and Systems Diagnostics Scientist for Emerald Cloud Lab. From 2013-2018, they were a Graduate Student Researcher in the Douglas Lab at the UCSF Department of Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology, where they worked on projects related to DNA nanotechnology. In 2013, they were also a Graduate Student Instructor for Capstone Senior Design (BioE 192) at the UC Berkeley Department of Bioengineering. In 2012, they were an Evening Tutor for Biomedical Transducers (BE 120) and Biotransport and Bioreaction Processes (BE 110) at the Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science, UCLA. Finally, from 2010-2012, they were an Undergraduate Researcher in the Kamei Lab at the UCLA Department of Bioengineering, where they worked on projects pertaining to point-of-care diagnostics and drug delivery.

Parsa Nafisi, Ph.D. received a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Bioengineering from the University of California, Los Angeles between 2008 and 2012. Parsa then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Bioengineering from the University of California, Berkeley and the University of California, San Francisco between 2012 and 2018. In 2019, they obtained a certification as an ECL Cloud Scientist Level 4 from the ECL Certification.
