Les Weir

Les Weir joined Emerald in January 2022 as SVP, Corporate Development where he is responsible for leading the company’s M&A initiatives across multiple industry verticals aligned with Emerald’s core business. In this role he is tasked with helping Emerald create increased profitability, revenue growth and shareholder value.

With a strong background and more than two decades of experience in taking an entrepreneurial approach to developing and executing strategic market entries, Les is known for his superior skills in negotiating business development opportunities aligned with corporate objectives. He came to Emerald from Reed Exhibitions where he served as SVP Corporate Development for the Americas and in other key business development leadership roles. Prior to Reed, he held a strategic brand development management position at Bass Leisure Retail. He also serves as an advisor to both PERKS and Macgregor Communications.

Les attended Strathclyde University where he received both a BA in Economics and an MBA with a strategic planning emphasis. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Les currently resides in Fairfield, Connecticut with his wife, two Tibetan terriers and two Siberian Forest cats.
