Dr. Chassee is a West Michigan native and was born at Blodgett Hospital. He completed his undergraduate studies at Hope College before going on to attend the University of Michigan Medical School. He returned to Grand Rapids in 2006 after serving as Chief Resident and completing his Emergency Medicine Residency at the University of Pittsburgh. His primary interests within Emergency Medicine are pre-hospital care, academics and alternative care models for Emergency Medicine. He has served as medical director of KCEMS since 2007 and is active on multiple regional and state EMS committees. Regarding his interest in academics, Dr. Chassee is an Associate Professor within the Department of Emergency Medicine at Michigan State University and has been a Core Faculty Member of the Emergency Medicine Residency since 2007. Within ECS, he has served as a Board Member and is excited to further ECS development with his role as the VP of Clinical Services. In Dr. Chassee's free time, he enjoys running and spending time with his wife and two boys.
