Nikhil Trehan

Nikhil Trehan has a diverse work experience, beginning in 2014 with a research position at Brown University's Division of Applied Mathematics. Here, they conducted fluid mechanics research, writing MATLAB scripts and testing random seeding scripts to study particle flow and distribution. In 2015, they worked as an Electrical Engineering Researcher at Brown University, building nanoscale apparatus and fine-tuning it for the measurement of conductance of single molecules.

Nikhil then joined Yale University in 2018, where they held multiple roles. As a Research Associate, they developed brain imaging software using React, Node, and TypeScript. Nikhil also wrote Python programs for chest X-Ray diagnosis and medical data classification using neural networks. Additionally, they worked on operating system design, implementing memory management, process management, thread scheduling, multiprocessor support, and a file system. Nikhil modified the OS code for sound I/O and built a synthesizer/piano app as the first user process for the OS. Their time at Yale University lasted until 2019.

Following their time at Yale, Nikhil joined InterDigital, Inc. in 2021 as a 5G Signals & Systems Research Intern. Nikhil focused on 5G software systems engineering, specifically working on signal processing software for 5G networks.

Currently, Nikhil is employed at Emergent Space Technologies, Inc. as a Software Test Engineer. Their tenure at the company began in 2023, and they are currently holding this role.

Nikhil Trehan has a strong educational background in the field of science and engineering. Nikhil first attended Brown University from 2012 to 2016, where they completed their Bachelor of Science (ScB) degree in Applied Mathematics-Biology. Following this, Nikhil pursued further education at Brown University from 2016 to 2018, earning their Master of Science (ScM) degree in Electrical Engineering. Building on their previous accomplishments, they later attended Yale University from 2019 to 2021, where they obtained another Master of Science (ScM) degree, this time in Applied Sciences. Throughout their education, Nikhil has shown a commitment to acquiring knowledge and expertise in various scientific disciplines, particularly in the fields of electrical engineering, applied mathematics, and biology.
