Dion Ward

Dion Ward has a diverse work experience spanning various organizations and roles. Currently, they serve as the Director of Fund Management and Reporting at Emergent, where they manage and monitors the disbursement of funds from carbon credit sales to forest countries. Dion is responsible for operationalizing and improving fund control and reporting arrangements to ensure the proceeds support countries' achievement of their climate goals. Prior to this, Dion worked at WWF as the Country Lead for Amazon Indigenous Rights and Resources, overseeing an $18 million regional project. Dion also served as a Senior Analyst in Strategic Planning at World Wildlife Fund, where they established investment flows and collaborated on fundraising efforts. Additionally, Dion has experience as a Project Consultant at TechnoServe and Senior Analyst in Sustainable Development at Braskem. Dion began their career as a Consultant/Analyst at Recomenda Pesquisas & Consultoria and later worked as a Program Advisor at the International Community Foundation. Dion also served as a Program Specialist at Northern California Grantmakers and an Associate Program Officer at the International Community Foundation. Dion started their career as a Social Marketing Coordinator at the California Department of Public Health. Overall, Dion Ward has demonstrated expertise in fund management, strategic planning, program implementation, and environmental conservation.

Dion Ward has a diverse education history. They first attended Pomona College from 1993 to 1997, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Latin American Studies. In 1996, Dion participated in a Study Abroad program at Universidad de Chile, focusing on Political Science. Later, from 2000 to 2002, Dion pursued a Certificate in Marketing at the University of California, Berkeley. Lastly, Dion completed a Master's of International Affairs from the UC San Diego School of Global Policy and Strategy (GPS) between 2004 and 2006, specializing in International Development and Nonprofit Management with a focus on Latin America.
