Antonio Marino has a strong background in software engineering and development. In 2011, they completed a summer internship at Soluta.net, where they developed an expenses report manager web app. Antonio carried out the entire development process from requirements gathering to bug fixing. In 2013, Antonio worked as a Software Developer for WormBase Mobile at Google Summer of Code, where they planned, developed, and released an open-source mobile hybrid app for WormBase. Antonio then joined CERN in 2014 as a Technical Student, where they researched and implemented the migration to Openstack Neutron from Nova Networks. This migration allowed for rich software-defined networking features on CERN's internal Infrastructure-as-a-Service platform. In 2015, Antonio interned at Google as a Software Engineering Intern, working on order management and business systems for Google Express. Antonio built and launched the user referral programs for GMV growth. Most recently, Antonio co-founded Emma, a popular budgeting and money management app in the UK, where they hold the role of Co-Founder and CTO.
Antonio Marino completed their education with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Software Engineering with Industrial Experience from The University of Manchester. This spanned from 2012 to 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a High School Diploma in Information Technology from ITT Eugenio Barsanti, which they completed from 2007 to 2012. In addition to their formal education, Antonio also attained additional certifications, including Startup School Online from Y Combinator in June 2017, and CCNA Exploration 1 & 2 from Cisco in June 2011.
