Kathryn Giddy has a diverse work experience in the design industry. Kathryn started their career as an Assistant Interior Designer at High Life Developments Limited in 2006. Kathryn then worked as a Lighting Designer at Helix Lighting Limited (now Poole Lighting Ltd) from 2007 to 2008. Kathryn then gained experience as a Senior Home & Gift Designer at Laura Ashley from 2008 to 2010, where they were responsible for the product development of the largest and most successful department within Home Furnishings. Kathryn then worked as a Senior Designer (Home) at Next Ltd from 2010 to 2011, managing a team and overseeing the development of stationery and gifting projects. Kathryn then became the Design Director at Caroline Gardner from 2011 to 2016, leading a team of illustrators, product designers, and buyers and driving product strategy and seasonal direction. Since 2016, Kathryn has been a Freelance Multidiscipline Designer, working on various projects including a 6-month maternity cover contract as the Design Manager at Emma Bridgewater. In this role, they have been responsible for delivering creative and unexpected solutions for pottery development, licensed ranges, and brand collaborations.
Kathryn Giddy attended Bedford High School from 1990 to 2001. There, they obtained 3 A-levels, including an A in Art, an A in Textiles, and a B in Business Studies. Additionally, they also achieved 9 GCSEs with grades ranging from A to B.
Following their secondary education, Kathryn enrolled at the University of Leeds from 2003 to 2006. Kathryn graduated with a 2:1 BA (hons) degree in Mixed Media Textiles.
