Abey Varughese

Abey Varughese is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in data platforms and analytics. Currently serving as the Head of Data Platforms & Engineering at GE Healthcare since May 2018, Abey has directed the design and implementation of next-generation cloud data platforms and managed a global team focused on DevOps and automation. Previously held roles include Principal Architect at GE Digital, where Abey designed GE's first Data Lake on cloud infrastructure, and various positions at GE Aviation and GE, leading initiatives in big data architecture and technology strategy. Abey's educational background includes an MBA in Computer Science and Business from the University of Madras and specialization in Big Data from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Additionally, Abey serves as a board member at Emmaus International.
