Carey Rodeheffer Petrie has extensive work experience in the field of clinical research and project management. Carey began their career in 2008 with Emmes, where they held various roles including Project Manager, Data Manager, and Protocol Monitor. In these positions, they managed multiple projects focused on developing vaccines, therapies, diagnostics, and devices against bioterrorism agents and emerging infectious diseases. Carey'sresponsibilities included study design, data collection and analysis, regulatory submissions, and securing contracts with research partners. In 2014, Carey became a Project Director at Emmes, overseeing the strategic direction and execution of projects. Carey continued to excel in their career and was promoted to the role of Global Clinical Operations Resource Management Director in 2022, followed by the position of Director of Global Operations Resource Management in 2023. Before joining Emmes, Carey worked as a Post-Doctoral Fellow and Clinical Research Management Intern at The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Center. During this time, they conducted pre-clinical studies and tested the antiviral properties of vitamin A against measles virus. Overall, Carey has a strong background in clinical research, project management, and scientific investigation.
Carey Rodeheffer Petrie received their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Chemistry from Grinnell College in the years 1993 to 1997. Carey later pursued a PhD in Cell Biology at Emory University from 1997 to 2003.
