Nicholas Shortway

Nicholas Shortway is a seasoned technical advisor and engineering director with extensive experience in production engineering and infrastructure development. Currently serving as a Technical Advisor at opsi and a Production Engineering Director at Meta, Nicholas has demonstrated a strong ability to scale engineering teams and enhance operational efficiencies. Notably, during tenure at Instagram, Nicholas established the Production Engineering team, significantly expanding its size and influence across the organization. Previous roles include Head of SRE at TripActions and various engineering positions at Emote, Formspring, FiberTower, and McManus Design Group. Nicholas holds an MA in Music Technology from McGill University and a degree in IST, CS, and Music Technology from Penn State University.
