Alex Dery Snider has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades.

Starting in 2000, Alex worked as a press relations officer at The Theater at Monmouth. Then, in 2002, they became an Account Executive at Porter Novelli, a public relations firm.

In 2004, Alex briefly worked as a Field Organizer for the Inez for US Senate campaign.

From 2005 to 2006, they served as the Communications Director at the National Research Center for Women & Families.

Afterward, from 2006 to 2008, Alex held a position as the Communications Director at the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee.

In 2008, Alex joined the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Science and Technology as the Communications Director, advocating for research, innovation, math, and science education. They remained in this role until 2011.

Then, from 2011 to 2013, they worked as a Communications Officer at The Pew Charitable Trusts' Health Impact Project.

Alex then transitioned to Bennington College, where they held various communication roles from 2014 to 2022, starting as a Communications Director and ending as the Senior Director of Communications.

In 2019, they also became a Village Trustee for the Village of Cambridge, New York.

Currently, starting from August 2022, Alex is the Policy and Communications Director at the Empire Justice Center.

Alex Dery Snider attended St. Lawrence University from 1997 to 2001, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Writing. They also received departmental honors in Speech and Theatre during their time at the university.
