Ricardo Avila

Ricardo Avila has a diverse work experience in the field of bioinformatics and research. Ricardo currently works at Empirico Inc. as a Bioinformatics Engineer, starting in November 2022. Prior to this, they were a Research Programmer at Scripps Research from July 2020 to November 2022. Ricardo also gained valuable experience at GSK, where they worked as a Data Analysis and Visualization Co-Op from August 2019 to February 2020, and as a Protein Design and Informatics intern in May to July 2019. Ricardo's research career began at The University of Texas at El Paso, where they worked as a Research Assistant from August 2015 to May 2019. Additionally, they briefly worked at GSK as a Protein Design and Informatics intern from June to August 2018.

Ricardo Avila pursued their education in the field of bioinformatics and biochemistry. Ricardo obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from The University of Texas at El Paso. Subsequently, they went on to earn a Master's degree in Bioinformatics from the same institution between the years 2016 and 2019.
