Shannon Porter

Shannon Porter has a diverse work experience in the disability and independent living sector. Shannon started their career in 2001 as a Disability Determinations Counselor for the State of Missouri. In 2010, they joined Empower: Abilities as the Chief Executive Officer and also worked as an Assistive Technology Specialist. Shannon then moved on to Southwest Center for Independent Living (SCIL), where they held various roles including Deputy Director, Interim CEO, and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining SCIL, they worked as an Assistive Technology Coordinator at the Southwest Center for Independent Living. In 2013, Shannon briefly worked as a Product Designer at Wheelchair Wear. Overall, Shannon has extensive experience in leadership roles and a strong background in assistive technology and disability services.

Shannon Porter obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from Drury University between the years 1992 and 1996.
