Dea Auray has worked in the education sector for over 20 years. From 1997 to present, they have been the CEO/Founder of Empowering Writers, an organization dedicated to creating teacher-friendly writing instruction that develops students' narrative, expository, opinion and argument writing skills. Prior to this, they were an Elementary School Teacher at Mill Hill School from 1992-1997, where they developed innovative methodology of writing lessons and techniques that resulted in a 45-point increase in state writing scores. Dea also offered professional development instruction to peer educators across the state, by sharing high-impact methodologies on how to teach specific skills that good writers need.
Dea Auray attended Fairfield University from 1985 to 1988, earning a BS in Business and Marketing. Dea then went on to Sacred Heart University to obtain a Masters in Education.
