Paul Salasznyk, Ph.D. has had a long and varied career in data science and analytics. From 2001 to 2013, they worked in a variety of roles, beginning with a Data Analyst at City Engineering in Troy, New York. Here, they assessed pavement conditions and developed an optimal schedule for city engineers. Paul then moved on to Callanan Industries, Inc. as a Statistical Analyst, where they assessed the quality and efficiency of the asphalt production process. In 2003, they joined Center Asset Management as a Project Manager/Business Systems Analyst, where they coordinated resources from external vendors and Public Safety agencies. From 2008 to 2013, they were the Director of Data Science at Computech (FCC), providing decision support for broadband investment and reallocating the USF fund. Finally, they served as the CEO of Emprata from 2013 to the present, developing mathematical models, creating interactive and dynamic dashboards, and conducting staffing level trend analysis.

Paul Salasznyk, Ph.D. completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Industrial and Management Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2003. Paul then went on to obtain a Master of Engineering (ME) in Operations Research and Statistics from the same institution in 2005. In 2008, they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Decision Sciences and Engineering Systems from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. In 2011, they obtained a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute.
