Lejie Zhang

Senior Scientist at Empress Therapeutics

Lejie Zhang has a strong background in scientific research with experience in various roles. They started their career at UMass Chan Medical School in 2012 as a PHD student in the Kobertz Lab, where they focused on their research until October 2018. After completing their doctorate, Zhang joined Yale University as a Postdoctoral Associate in the Grutzendler Lab. In this role, they specialized in using chemical tools and in vivo imaging to study neuro-glia interactions in the brain. Their work at Yale involved screening fluorescent dyes for brain imaging and understanding the transport mechanisms of these dyes in vivo. Zhang's time at Yale ended in November 2021. Currently, Zhang is a Senior Scientist at Empress Therapeutics, starting in December 2021. They also held the role of Scientist II in the Target Discovery department until March 2023, when they transitioned to their current position.

Lejie Zhang's education history starts with a Bachelor's Degree in Biotechnology, which was obtained from Dalian University of Technology between 2005 and 2009. After this, Zhang pursued a Master's Degree in Inorganic Chemistry from the same university from 2009 to 2012. Following this, Zhang proceeded to UMass Chan Medical School, wherein the individual completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biomedical Sciences, General from 2012 to 2018.
