Nathaniel Mahieu

Nathaniel Mahieu has a diverse work experience spanning a range of industries and roles. Nathaniel currently holds the position of Senior Scientist II at EmpressTx, which they started in August 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Scientist at EmpressTx from December 2021 to August 2022.

At Washington University, they worked as part of the Metabolomics Innovation project, focusing on systems-level annotation of a metabolomics data set. Their role spanned from 2013 to 2017. Additionally, they played a key role in developing and launching the "Credentialed E. coli Cell Extract Kit" as a part of their Credentialing Kit for Metabolomics.

During their time at University of Missouri, Nathaniel served as an Undergraduate Research Assistant, conducting research on hypoxia-activated chemotherapeutics. Nathaniel was awarded best undergraduate thesis for their work. Nathaniel also worked as a Total Person Program Tutor during this time.

Nathaniel began their career at Teva Pharmaceuticals as a Quality Control Analyst from May 2008 to August 2010.

Outside of their professional work, Nathaniel also pursued photography and web development, running their own website from 2005 to 2010.

Nathaniel Mahieu completed their education at Washington University in St. Louis, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Chemistry (with a focus on Mass spectrometry based metabolomics). Nathaniel attended this university from 2011 to 2017. Prior to that, they studied at the University of Missouri-Columbia from 2007 to 2011, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry.
