Ryan Cross has a diverse work experience in science journalism. Ryan is currently working as a Senior Science Correspondent at Endpoints News. Prior to this, they worked as a Biotech Reporter at Boston Globe Media from February 2022 to March 2023. Ryan has also worked at the American Chemical Society, where they held the positions of Associate Editor, Biotech and Pharma Reporter from September 2019 to January 2022, and Assistant Editor, Biotech and Pharma Reporter from September 2017 to September 2019. Before that, they worked as a Science Journalist Intern at Science Magazine from April 2017 to August 2017. Ryan also has experience as a Contributing Editor at Chemical & Engineering News (C&EN) from September 2016 to April 2017, and as an Editorial Intern at MIT Technology Review in the summer of 2016. Ryan has previous work experience at Purdue University, where they served as a STAR Ambassador, Teaching Assistant for Anatomy and Physiology, Undergraduate Researcher, and Teaching Assistant for Protein Expression Lab Module. In addition, Ryan worked as a Barista at Greyhouse Coffee and Supply Co., and as a Research Assistant in Psychological Sciences at Purdue University. Ryan also has experience as a Crew Leader at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
Ryan Cross obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University, where they concentrated in Neurobiology & Physiology and Genetics. Ryan attended Purdue from 2010 to 2014. Following their undergraduate studies, Ryan pursued graduate coursework and research in Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at Purdue University from 2014 to 2015. Later, in 2015 to 2016, they pursued a Master's degree in Science and Medical Journalism at Boston University.
