Nate Richards has extensive experience in the energy industry. In 1997, they began their career as the MIS Manager at ATSER. Nate then moved to Reliant Energy in 1999, where they worked as an IT Technical Business Analyst. In 2000, they joined Scalable Software as a Senior Software Developer. At Advanced Reality, they worked as a Senior Software Developer from 2001-2002, writing three patents for the company's novel model for P2P real-time data state maintenance and partially-connected graph connectivity. From 2002-2006, they were the Manager of Custom Software Development at Spinnaker Exploration. In 2006, they founded Energy Frameworks, which merged with Powermatrix in 2019 and rebranded as Enerex in 2020. In 2019, they became the CEO and Co-founder of Enerex, a company that makes it easier to buy and sell energy in competitive markets. Finally, in 2003, they founded Entrance Consulting, one of Houston's fastest growing tech consulting companies.
Nate Richards has a diverse educational background. Nate obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from Rice University between 1997 and 2001. In 2006, they were awarded a Gold Certified Partner from Microsoft. In 2013, they attended the University of Oklahoma and completed their Energy Executive Management Program. Nate then completed the Key Executive Program in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies at MIT Sloan Executive Education between 2014 and 2016. In 2019, they attended Harvard Business School Executive Education and studied Entrepreneurial Strategy. Additionally, they are 1% Fluent in Spanish, as certified by Duolingo.
