Mahmud Riffat

Principal & Co-Head of Credit at Energy Capital Partners (ECP)

Mr. Riffat is a Principal at ECP. Mahmud serves as Co-Head of ECP’s credit platform, and he is a member of the Credit Investment Committee and Credit Operating Committee. He currently serves on the board of Seawolf Parent Inc. and previously served on the board of Ramaco Resources, Inc.

Prior to joining ECP in 2017, Mr. Riffat was a Vice President at First Reserve, where he was responsible for sourcing, executing and overseeing primary and secondary energy credit investment opportunities with a focus on power, midstream and equipment and services companies. Previously, Mr. Riffat was an Associate for three years at Global Infrastructure Partners, a private equity firm focused on infrastructure investments. Mr. Riffat began his career as an Analyst in the Global Energy & Power Investment Banking Group at Merrill Lynch & Co.

Mr. Riffat earned a B.S. in Foreign Service from the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University and an M.B.A. from Columbia University where he graduated from the Value Investing Program.
