Sr. Director Of Product And Sustaining Engineering at Energy Recovery

Jimmy McLean P.E. has a diverse work experience in engineering roles. Jimmy started their career as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Texas A&M Advanced Engines Laboratory, where they focused on experimental and theoretical investigations of in-cylinder combustion processes and alternative fuels. Jimmy then worked as a Summer Intern at Atec, Inc. and a Technical Specialist at Prospect. After that, they joined the Texas A&M Turbomachinery Laboratory as a Graduate Research Assistant, where they designed and built a 2-phase annual seal test rig. Currently, they are working at Energy Recovery, Inc. in various roles such as Senior Mechanical Engineer, Director of R&D Engineering, and Sr. Director of Product and Sustaining Engineering, where they lead multidisciplinary teams and focuses on designing, building, testing, and sustaining systems based on Energy Recovery's proprietary isobaric pressure exchanges.

Jimmy McLean P.E. received their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Alabama in 2009. Jimmy then pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University, graduating in 2011. Following this, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2015. Jimmy obtained their Professional Engineer (PE) certification from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers in March 2018. Jimmy is currently enrolled in the Rice Business - Jones Graduate School of Business, where they are pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, which they are expected to complete in 2024.
